West Acton Stay & PlayInfo
Members £4.00 per session, siblings £1.00

For more than a decade, West Acton Centre has been home to Stay & Play, a welcoming session for local families, carers, and children. Running three times a week, the sessions are led by a professional and supported by Centre volunteers. Stay & Play is a space where children come along with parents, carers, nannies, or childminders. It gives little ones the chance to meet other children, play with a wide variety of toys, and enjoy messy play activities such as painting, water play, and sand. Adults also benefit, meeting other parents and carers over tea, coffee, and conversation. The sessions are more than just playtime, they gently prepare children for the next steps in their development and early education. Many parents say they love seeing how quickly their children grow in confidence, moving from clinging to mum or carer at first, to running off happily to explore and play within a few weeks. Accessible and affordable, Stay & Play costs just £4 per session, including tea, coffee, and healthy snacks for the children. It continues to be a much-valued, community-run initiative where both children and adults can learn, connect, and thrive.

The Society of Afghan Residents aims to provide services to the Afghan and all other refugee communities in the United Kingdom. In particular, we seek to provide the community with information and guidance relating to housing, immigration, Welfare, Education, and Legal matters and also social, religious and cultural activities. We also provide long term training for unemployed refugees, helping them to develop their skills to enable them to find work in the future and to this end we aim to further develop our Women’s Group, details of which are outlined above. With all our employment projects we seek to be able to issue recognised certificates to those who successfully attend the course. Open 9.00 am – 5.00 pm Monday to Friday
